It was Peter Gabriel's "Games without Frontiers".
Gabriel wanted 'That Rickenbacker Sound' on some songs on his 3rd solo album. And who are you gonna get to do that for you in England in 1980? Paul Weller.
Weller played guitar on 'Games without Frontiers' (uncredited) and 'And through the wire' (Credited)
Kate Bush sang backing vocals including the line "Jeux Sans Frontiers".
As usual with a lot of Gabriel songs, the songs message is strongly political, but a compromise has to be made for the 'radio friendly' version of the song.
The album version features the line..... "Whistling tunes we **** on the coons in the jungle",
Which for the radio was changed to......"Whistling tunes we're kissing baboons in the jungle"
And the rest as they say, is history.
