Nope. Built 469ci sleeper with all the good stuff. 400hp through quiet 2 1/2" mufflers.

Hey Bob, I'm with you on the Pontiac thing. In fact Mustangs, Pontiacs, you name it....they rock.

Jeffrey, did you know that aliens are trying to create civil unrest by beaming incorrect Ferrari model designations directly into the minds of unsuspecting humans? Well, that's my excuse. And I'm not the only one...there appear to be others on Google. Frightening. It's actually a friend's favourite car (as you can probably tell, I'm not generally a huge Ferrari fan, although that is a beautiful car); he actually touched one once....made his day. I'd prefer a Cobra, personally. Except you wouldn't want to see me attempt to drive one, as I don't drive (don't ask)!!!!

Ferraris have been an interest of mine since the early '80s. I do prefer the older ones, '50s and '60s.

I think with those Ferrari prices I'll stick with Pontiacs, Chevy's, Fords and Mopars. Besides I just like to get slammed back into the seat like I'm taking off in a rocket and feel the torque, I don't want to go around a corner going 130.

If you saw this year's Barrett Jackson auction on Speedvision the good American muscle cars are flying up the charts too. Not in the millions but bringing some astounding numbers.
I was (and still am) a fan of brute american muscle but recently I have grown to appreciate all-wheel drive, good power and big brakes.....straights are cool but races are won in the corners....

'67 Cougar GT 390 (450HP) 4spd very unrefined and a load of fun (sold)

Image

'04 VW R32 250HP all wheel drive 6-spd....drives like a luxury-rocket-go-cart but looks like a plain Golf and has room for all of my gear. It's not a Ferrari but at least I could afford it and I have a big smile on my face every time I drive it.

"she's so fine my 409..."

I've had two of them, a '62 4bbl and a '63 dual quad. Both are long gone. They always came across to people like a grampa car, but boy what a sneaky passing gear.

I have a friend who has a 409 and a 4 speed in a 60 Chevy impala, really cool car, fast too. Not original obviously but very cool.

I'd like to get an old muscle car myself, but would probably opt for a Charger or Mustang over a GTO. I have to restore my Volvo 1800S first though before I get another car! In the meantime, my AWD Audi Quattro makes everyday driving really nice.

The values of many old cars are shooting up nowadays, including my Volvo. I think it will get to where everything is overvalued and they will crash again, like they did in the early 90's. Watch out for falling prices!...hehe

There's something about those GTO's though, but they are big bucks. I'd like to get something like a 63 Dodge sleeper with dogdish hubcaps and throw a 440 6 pack/4 speed/positraction in it (and buy a gas station.) Actually I don't think that would be very cheap either, hey this also belongs in The Others doesn't it?
