Yes Keith, but bear in mind that I talk with a left handed accent!

So when is it going to be? Any suggestions?

Keith, you seem to know the area, can you "sus" out anywhere that might be suitable? also I expect some will want/need to stop overnight somwhere. I wonder if there is a reasonably priced hotel that has a decent sized meeting room that we maybe could hire between us.

Are we looking at a Saturday/Sunday?

We need approximate numbers, should we put a thread in some other topics to pick up anyone who has missed this one?

Scunthorpe is near Doncaster which has a big music shop where all the gigging/broke musicians go and not that far from Leeds where there is another one where all the rich/superstars shop!

I think it would have to be a Sunday, bearing in mind that a lot of us gig on a Saturday night!

We would also want to catch as many as possible, so how about voting on the venue.....

Scunny
South London
Birmingham

Votes, & how many would be unable to attend if their vote wasn't chosen?

I would vote for Birmingham because it is more central, but would attend the other venues as well (as long as it wasn't a Saturday!)

Birmingham is OK with me (if we had it in September we could catch the Birmingham Vintage Guitar Show) South London would probably be OK too (we could all stay at Grahams house! couldn't we Graham?).

Graham, I'm sure there are churches in Scunny & Birmingham. Image

If it wasn't London, would you attend either of the other venues???

Of course he would, especially if JH were to make an appearance! I think that Graham thinks that there isn't intellegent life past Luton, but then again, perhaps he's right!

Remember JH's words.... "Too bad you couldn't settle on Barnstaple or Scunthorpe or Slough- maybe I'd visit."

Peter - are you asking me to get my chopper out??? And yes Tony - The closer the better - but either would be OK. We could all stay at Peters - couldn't we P?

Scunny, Smoke (even Sarf of the river), Brummy - but like Tony I'll go anywhere. And like I said, I can offer Grantham as a general mid-point if you want. A barrel of Newton's Drop is on offer....
enough, already.

Well I have been jesting about Scunthorpe really but in all honesty its fairly middle of mainland Britain. Ok its over at the east side which would make it tough for our friends north of the border, Wales and the far south of England. Thats not forgetting anyone in Northern or Southern Ireland phew! have I covered everyone? Its tough, there is always going to be someone who has a raw deal. Anyway here is my vote, its biased of course.

Scunthorpe (Does Mr Hall have family in Scunny?)
Brum
London

Serious now, If the numbers were right and there was enough interest I could suss out Charlie the owner of the Baths Hall and also a very large Pub/Hotel in Scunthorpe. I would also look at any decent hotels in the area and try and negotiate a deal. In all honesty Scunthorpe probably isnt geographically the fairest place to have a meet, but I would be willing to do a bit if it were chosen.
