Jeff-
That's so I can jump over the stack when I'm playing!
That is if I actually play...

Mesa walkabouts? I use Ampeg Grunt and Lugs. Jeffrey that was a nice B-15 behind that 4002, haha! I sold one just like that a few years ago, but kept the dolly for my future one(s).

Jeffrey,
I put lots of efforts and time to finally find and appreciate this rig, so hopefully this will be the last !!! But, there will always be something either new or different that my ears will love too !!

I keep telling myself that what I have is the last, but...
Bob,
What's your secret to true happiness? You realize, of course, that you are not helping our economy by not buying new stuff all the time!

My secret is just that I love the sound I get and after all these years of using Ampegs (usually SVT's) I have never once wanted to get another amp. I've tried them out in jams, in stores etc. good ones too, some sound great and some have features that I would like to have but the bottom line is that none of them (to me) sound as good as my SVT's. They are nice and simple and it's easy to get a great sound with them for me. The only downside and it is a big one for many people is the weight.
Oh, I still buy new Rickenbackers.

I'm with Bob, kinda.... I bought my Ampeg V-4BH reissue 9 years ago (man how time flies!). I suppose it's an SVT midget... haha.
I'm so happy with it, I don't even look at other amps. Or speakers (I run a 4x10, 1x15). I'll read reviews in Bass Player, read opinions on the Forum here, etc., but I am just 100% satisfied and happy with my rig.
I do use a couple of basses and occasionaly effects, though, for variety.
To each his own, though!

I had a V4-B years ago, I wish I had kept it.

I like Ampegs a lot too. Have an SVT. Used Portaflexes. But I also like old Sunns and other stuff too. It all has its place, but then I'm more of a studio fiend where I can dial stuff in to fit into the track nice and pretty like.

I had a Sunn 2000S years ago, the tone controls didn't seem to do much on it. The SVT was the first amp I ever used that had really good tone controls in it. I used Sunns, Univoxes, Marshalls, and Fenders before them. Oh yeah and RCA console TV's.

Figured it out. My '73 V-4B, I run into a Peavey 8x10. I run stereo, there is 2 channels, each has it's own volume.
