Reviving an old thread....

So the Hammond lives! I just got a legit ebay 2nd chance offer... to buy the same organ for $30.50! Just working out transportation... I'll keep you posted!

There is such a thing as a legit 2nd chance offer, is there? Mine are all bogus!! Good luck with it, Bob - are low loaders easy to rent over there?

There really is... I tried all of the links on the email and they all went to their corresponding ebay locations. Just to be sure, I emailed a question to verify the response.

No worries about renting anything... my mother-in-law has a postal service contract that requires the ownership of an 18-foot box truck, complete with lift. The only issue is setting up a time... seems like it might be a hike!

Hmm... Hammond for $30.50? not letting it go this time!

I should think not, Bob. I want to see pics of you at the keyboard when you get it!!

Howard, I recently sold an item on a second chace offer--it took a bit of convincing to get him to believe that I was on the level!

I can understand why, Paul! There's so much bogus stuff around these days (not just eBay) that you've got to be really careful - if in doubt, chuck it out!!

Reminds me of a philosophy one of my ex-bosses had: "If in doubt, bill it out. It's better to credit than never get it!!"

Well, I got the response I was looking for... so I hit that Buy It Now like Buster Douglas hit Tyson!

Time to start being really nice to my mother-in-law!

So after a 13-hour, 600-mile round trip, a week of sitting in my mother-in-law's garage, and 3 or four hernias, the Hammond is now finally home!

She looks happy next to my Rick, I'd say! Hmmm, got my 4001 last Friday... Hammond's here today... it's been a pretty good week!

That is just soooooo cool, Bob!!

Now play one of Charles-Marie Widor's organ symphonies for us!!

Too hard? How about Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor.

Er......... Whiter Shade of Pale?

Er......... Chopsticks?

You forget Howard... my wife's the organist!

I'll consider it a personal triumph when I can pull off "Happy Birthday" before my daughter's in November!

Aha!! a project! Go for it!!

Using one finger on one hand is a bit tough on a guitar, Bob. But an organ........ the world is your oyster!!

To paraphrase my late uncle LeRoy:

"Ya gotta have an organ!"

Congrats, Bob, and keep that truss clean and tight!
