yea, I'd say rust is a little more of a problem here than back in the NY area, but not all that bad where I am (Pearl City area Oahu). I dont take any special care except to keep the guitars rubbed with an occasional very light coating of Old English polish (strings, chrome included). It seems to do the trick. Its also a nice glide lube for the neck.

In Kona (as you know) rust would be a bit worse since it rains all the time there. What would you be doing in Kona? I get over there once in a while but its usually just passing through. Nice town... very sleepy.
