Mike: I noticed that too. Wonder if it was subject to "buddy bidding."
buddy bidding = "hey buddy, would you mind bidding up this auction I have going on? If you win, you won't have to pay for it, just nudge it up there for me..."

I knew Andy would never sell that V63! Besides, I didn't tell him anything he didn't already know. And even if he would sell it, I already have a V63MG,a 4003MB, and a C64FG on the way, so I'm well out of the market for anything else.

4100-5000$ is also too high for a 4001CS, but the value of a Bass is worth what someone is willing to pay for I guess.
So, a V63 at 2800$ is something we will see more and more because these are absolutely wonderful Basses and discontinued, all that IMHO.

How true. Key word is discontinued. That will always drive the price up. That and they ae great basses.

I think we've seen a few v63's in nice shape, particularly in FG sell in the low 2's at this point $2800 for a bass that's equivalant to NOS is not extremely out of line.

Yeah, it is because once you buy it its not NOS anymore now if you sell it its used!!!!

That Bass was not NOS...it's missing a big piece of the finish around the bridge.
IMHO it's damaged and needs repair.

The price the V63's are reaching these days are high. Too high? - depends how bad you want one.
I bought my first V63 new ('00). A few years later I got a second hand one ('99) and paid for it more than I did on the first one. At the time I thought maybe I paid a little more than "it's real value" but I wanted it and figured it was "worth it for me". In retrospect, it seems like I got a good deal

"... In retrospect, it seems like I got a good deal"
Having seen the aforementioned v63... you did.
