"V4B=fart city!"

One man's gas is another man's perfume. I recorded with a V4-b with my alt rock band and I loved the tone to death. I like dirt... (brings new meaning to the RHCP song). There is even a local guy with an old 70's V4b that I would love to own, but I am worried that 100w is not enough... thus enter Traynor.

John, that's what I said "However, if you want dirty.. there you go!"

But back at that time I was tired of broken down amps and wanted a nice clear bottom end.

I do love dirty bass... Jack Bruce and Felix Pappalardi were two of my faves, and I specifically bought a Peavey Bass amp (the first one) because it had a great overdrive control!

So V4B=fart city is not necessarily bad thing! But still, I always cringed when I saw a V4B. They were considered cheap amps.

compared to a SVT, the v4bh's are still cheap. Was not impressed with the one v4bh I played though... but then something was wrong with it.

I've got the Traynor combo with the 200 head and matching 2-10/1-15/horn cabinet and like it. It doesn't have quite the earth-moving power and projection of my old Acoustic 140 head and Sunn 18" folded horn cab with that "pin 'em to the back wall of the auditorium" punch, but is quieter, has a little more tone-shaping ability and I can actually pick it up! The funny thing though is that it's also an unbelievable amp for a Rickenbacker 12-string. If you own one of these set-ups, beg, borrow or steal a Ric 12 and plug it in for grins. The sounds that come out will absolutely knock your socks off! When I go back to my YCV40WR, which is a pretty darned good guitar amp, it sounds like I've switched to a battery-powered Pignose. Try it...you'll like it. I don't know what your second word will be after plugging in, but your first will be HOLY....
