I recall seeing a 330-6 Jetglo/black trim at Guitar Emporium in Louisville. Very sleek beasty.
Midblu 1997? COOL!

Boy, Mike - That's some collection - That Midnight Blue 1997 really jumped out at me. Then again, they are all striking in their own way...
This has been a fun thread - It's great to chat with you folks who share a certain passion for these instruments. I was thinking, that while talking about color and models and all that is all fun, the main thing about these instruments (to me) is sound, playability, and the history. The fact that they look great (Melissa used the word "sexy") is icing on the Ricky cake!
I wonder if Rickenbacker would paint my VW Jetta in Blueburst?

Well, thanks to the overwhelming response to my idea of starting a COY collection, I've just put a down payment for a Blueburst 360/12 VP with Chris at Pick of the Ricks! So starts the journey - This also will represent my first Ric guitar (6 or 12 string - I only have basses now). Now we play the waiting game! Thanks to all you forum members who have chimed in with your encouragement!

I also have a 1997 in Midnight Blue. Is there any way of finding out how many of these are around?

Tony, congrats! You made the right move.
James, I think its safe to say that your guitar is pretty darn rare.

I have a 4004cii BBR on order, but for the most part I've decided to stick with what I like. Here's the family so far...

Fabulous, Steve.... Seagreen is the one pastel color that I really LIKE on Rics--especially on the 360.

I'd like to see a Desert Gold guitar in person. I have a feeling that they don't photograph well as they always look a bit "washed out". Anyone out there have one that they could comment on?

I had a 360/12 in Desert Gold which I bought from PM Blues. The color looked more vibrant on their website, I think they do a pretty good job with their photos. It still looked pretty cool, but I always kind of wished it was less beige and closer to Fender's Shoreline Gold.

I meant Aztec Gold, sorry.

Interesting comment James - "less beige". It sounds like the pictures I've seen of Desert Gold are more accurate than I thought. Not sure what gold this is, but here's one of my Laklands (sorry about the non-RIC content). This is a gold I'd like to see on a Rickenbacker!

Steve, depending on where you are in Ontario you can see one about 40 minutes from the Detroit/Windsor tunnel or bridge at Motor City Guitar. It may take awhile getting across though considering the Canadian Customs walkout today.
