Did someone already do a buy the Yes CD joke? Sorry. I was up all night watching Jeff fighting off hoards of blonds.

Someone mentioned earlier on about picking between the horseshoe and the bridge, and I had noticed that he does that in the Songs for Tsongas DVD, but as I was watching it again, I noticed that a lot of times he plays closer to the neck pickup too. I was suprised that he was picking near the bridge for the walking bassline in "Yours Is No Disgrace" - the tone was still pretty round - but I've seen him playing near the neck pickup a lot on Yessongs (the film from the early '70s) too.

I wish they had included the bass solo in that movie, and I wish they had fixed the soundtrack - I had borrowed a video copy from a friend years ago and thought the video was screwed up, but you can hear on the DVD that the original soundtrack is messed up, especially during the "I Get Up" section of "Close to the Edge."

Oh yeah, one more thing - I noticed that in Songs for Tsongas he gets a really nice "Squire" sound from his green Mouradian on "Mind Drive Pts. 1 & 2" and "South Side of the Sky" - I think it's a pretty good DVD, Jon Anderson sounds great, Steve Howe looks like an emaciated wizard, and Rick Wakeman just looks kind of perturbed...

Harry, I haven't stopped laughing. Your assessment of how Steve Howe and Wakeman looks is dead on. I'm amazed at how Jon Anderson's vocals have held up over the years. He hits every note. Especially on Going For The One. Truly amazing. That DVD was filmed in my hometown Lowell, MA....to bad I'm in North 'freaking' Dakota or I'd have been there, for sure.

Rick Wakeman must still be ****** at them for changing the sounds on his keyboard parts on Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe - in Yessongs during the a capella parts of "I've Seen All Good People" he's clapping away and smiling, but he's just a lump in the Tsongas DVD.

I used to live in Bedford by the way.

great DVD. i was at the show and was amazed at when he played his Martin acoustic bass guitar during the "unplugged" part of the show... how much he sounded like HIM! a lot of his sound is just in his (huge) hands.

Hey, I'm in the Tsongas DVD.
I'm sitting in front of Steve.
When I heard they were filming and I had Front Row tickets I wanted to be on Camera. So I made a sign.
They got a GREAT Closeup of me during AGP, and at the end of the 1st DVD I'm holding my YES sign
[yes in a heart]..
I made up 100 little signs and gave them out for the encore, you see them in the crowd at the end of the show.

This weekend Chris is Playin in NYC with the SYN anybody going? The New Syn CD is pretty good!
