"That one is a C64 with the reverse (in this case a righty) headstock"
I think the headstock may have confused you as this is a left handed bass, so the "reverse" headstock really is correct for a LH 4003.

Yeah, I know... I am not that into these things; I like my 4001 and my 4003 and my 330 but the main reason for my presence at the RIC booth was to meet Paul W and pick up my 4003 he'd finished. I took a few photos and then spent about 30 minutes trying to figure out how to get my 4003 out of the hall - you can't just walk out with instruments and in fact doing business between "customers" and "exhibitors" is apparently strictly verboten according to the rules printed in the NAMM book. Which we weren't doing as it was private party to private party (in case the NAMM police are monitoring this site).
So, those photos are what they are.
And anyway I thought RIC had advanced further along the technology curve by now to allow them to make left-hand oriented necks for left-handed guitars, but what do I know? I was still dazzled by all 23,465,789,013 models and color combinations at the Ibanez display.

The volume of left handed guitars vs righties might not justify retooling their processes to make leftie specific necks. I think the lefties look kool with their "quirky" backwards markers headstocks etc.
JH and crew are selling everyone they make so something must be right.

I'm going to go down there and take picture's of the inside of the bathroom Alan, what were you thinking we don't want a shot of the body but the whole bass showing the walnut wings thats why you thought it was a C64.
I'm just kidding mocking you about your photography LOL!

I felt like such a fanboy taking photos of a trade show booth...
AND the spot where the two "overall" shots were taken was right next to the men's room. Seriously.
