After playing this 4001cs http://www.3dentourage.com/425/4001cs.htm I can see how a lot of people would want to have the horseshoe and toaster pickups on their 4003 basses ... it would be cool if Ric made the horseshoe pickup available ...

" The bass is in incredible condition for a 30 year old bass. The only thing wrong with it is the finish which is slightly cracked due to moving from a southern climate to a northern climate"
My bass is 4 years older and by no means a trailer queen, mine is better than this thing.
By the looks of the finish it looks like it went from a southern climate (Sahara) to SIberia. SHort of putting the bass in a freezer I can't think of anything that would crack the finish that bad.

In 2004 I sold my 68 and except for some exposed wood on the back it was really clean ... and I gigged with that bass ... that white one qualifies as a beater ... all of the 70s basses that I owned were in better shape than that one ... and I had an 89 4003s5 similar to that one except it was in a lot better shape and the seller listed it as have a rough finish ... that one looked like it was hauled around in the back of a pickup truck without a case ...

Jeff, you're saying that like it's a bad thing!
I don't mind buckle rash, finish checking on old basses, battle scars and honest player's wear. What I don't like is irreversible mods.
