That white "binding" is actually masked off maple. Paul W shot the color and during "negotiations" for the refin project he suggested giving the BronzeGlo a halo of MapleGlo.
It is a unique feature and even up close (really up close) people mistake it for a binding (or they can't figure out what it is at all).
