I'm not an expert in flats ... but I seem to like the dean Markley flats better than the other that I have played ...

Steve's BBR is on the way so my 87 JG is up for sale to the forum for 800 bucks. If I don't hear any takers, I'll ebay it.
Jeffrey, I am curious if you have had issues with the chrome coming off on the Chromes? I like the brightness but I may switch and try the TI's. I don't want a flat sounding flat, I just don't the overtones of a round. I think there is something around that's a half round or something?

Charly, you should have NO trouble selling it at that price. It's in great shape, and it's STILL hard for me to pass up!

Have you tried the Rotosound flats? They're pretty bright. I think the TI's will be too warm for your desires.

I am afraid of Roto's as the rounds tear up the frets.

Dean Markley flats ... or nickel wound round wound strings ... and I got my fingers dirty from playing the flats on your bass as well ...

I got the pictures. Looks very nice. I am very interested.
Did I see above in this thread that you wouldn't want to use Rotos on this? Is it this particular model or just in general? I was looking for that roundwound sound. Tony Cabibi recommended DR strings as an alternative in another thread. What do you think?
Thanks,
Greg

I used Dr's before I switched to chromes. I love Dr's for rounds.

"I don't want a flat sounding flat, I just don't the overtones of a round"
Not to fret, the Chromes do not flake! Plus the Chromes will give you the tone you are seeking as they are bright for flats without the earbleed.

But the new chromes on the 4-2-5 flaked!
