That's definitley the best BBR i've seen so far Steve. Makes me think twice about taking the deposit off my 660BBR. I don't know if its just a trick of the camera flash but wow! I'm just glad you finally got it so you can quit yer complainin' already! Image

Steve that bass is beautiful!! Very nice finish and figure in the wood. If it sounds as good as it looks...and I'm sure it does, it was worth the wait.

I've added the vintage tone push-pull to my 2004 Monty Brown. I wired it reverse to Rickenbacker. Down for clank, up for Fender (oops!!) I mean fuller tone.
That BB is gorgeous. Looks like the fingerboard is a lighter shade than normal.
My Monty Brown neck is slim too. Maybe colour of year basses have a thinner neck?
Who knows.....

Well, got to play it at practice today, and WOW. Talk about a difference in the new 4003 pickups and the older '73 era pickups! This thing was hot, had lots of nice low end without losing the "clank". I actually had to adjust my tone controls to dial back the "clank" a little bit! Image

The neck feels 200% better for my playing than the Thunderbird. I felt like I was running with ankle weights on and now I just took them off.

And John, no one is happier than I that I can finally stop complaining Image

Steve, when did you actually order the bass?

It was ordered by POTR on January 5, 2005. Chris Clayton had not pre-sold it, so on April 20 or so, it was still available for purchase. I put the deposit down and waited until now to get it.

Steve, of course you'll have to post a pic of you playing it after your first gig with it.

Wow, looks like the folks at the factory have really got the burst down now. Kinda makes the wait for my 4004L worth it......

I like how there appears to be a shade of greenish-blue in the transitional part of the burst on the body.
