I'm going to pick up some calipers this weekend if I remember to and post my readings. I tried to do something like this several years ago but got no bites, good idea Ted.

Nice job Dave. Very interesting.

I did my measurements with a straight edge and not a caliper but my 72 seems to be in the ballpark with other 72's so I think it is pretty close. I would like to get calipers though in case I am consistently lowballing my measurements.

Busy Sunday morning there Dave!

Interesting measurements for all there, with Mr Drysdale's 96 looking very thin!

Andrew, busy indeed. My wife gave me a hand by writing the dimensions down as I called them out. It went pretty fast. I found it easiest to pull aside the "D" & "G" strings off of the fret board to measure.

Kevin T. was nice enough to let me borrow a high end set of digital caliper. I promised to get them back to him A.S.A.P.

Thanks for the numbers Dave! I will pull all of mine out of storage this week and get them ready for the Confluence. I will measure them up then.

Dave sent me more numbers so I have added lines to show the Thinest, Thickest, and Average. Makes for quicker finding, but since it can be any neck, not necessarily the same one, not sure how useful it will be, especially the Average. But there it is...

More data......

Also, I wish I could make it to the Midwest Confluence but that is my wife's birthday weekend and plans were made and.... lets just hope for plenty of pics!

BTW, you only have a very short time to mail your taxes in so get cracking!!!

Dave,

If you haven't sent the calipers to me yet, maybe you could send them to Andy first.

So were any measurements taken at the Midwest Confluence?

Bump

Dave, were measurements taken and were they tabulated? An inquiring mind wants to know...

Yes, measurements were taken. I had 3 of my 4 Rick basses measured, and the results were right in line with what I'd guessed.

I'm looking forward to seeing the tabulations, too....

Sorry guys, I have not been posting up on this because of my project load. I have a pile of things I have to finish soon.
