Meeting a Beatle

I've had the luck to meet PM a couple of times. My cousin works for LD Systems in Houston, who had equipment used by PM on a few tours.

LD Systems also provided the setup for a press conference before the show in Houston on the New World Tour. I lucked up with my girlfriend to get all access passes and got to see the sound check.

Paul even took a break to say hello and give a small wave to us during the sound check. We were only 15-20 feet away just watching.

Later, during the press conference when it was about to finish a few people walked up and got autographs so I did too. I ended up stepping up on the riser and was right beside Paul.

Met him again in Atlanta on the same tour were he signed two pick-guards of mine(Hofner & Rick bass). This was at the conclusion of a LIPA press conference, so I was prepared to be the first one up with out seeming to rush him.

At a point that Geoff Baker motion to Paul, Paul said he had to go, that's when I stood up and walked up to Paul. A security guy for Paul, the short Scottish guy who's been with him for years was going to stop me. Paul noticed the pick-guards in my hand and told the guy it was alright.

We spoke for a few seconds as he signed the guards and he politely said thanks for my complements of the shows that I had already seen and had enjoyed.

The rest of the audience were a bit delayed at the opportunity to come up so I had 10-15 seconds with out any problems.

Hung out with Sean Lennon for a few hours while he was in town with Chiba Matta. He even needed some patch cables for the group that I gave to them. Had several photos of us together goofing around. Very nice and unassuming young man.
I did make the decision not to refer to John & Yoko. Just asked about his "Mom" and refer to his "Dad". That is who they are to him.

Nice guy.
