Gee, I had all sorts of errands to run today and miss out. Ted, if you got copies, could you pass them to me? Glad to see the forum remained positive on this one.

With the number of 4005 basses built, and the number collected, you have to wonder where they all are?! Sitting in a closet or under someone's bed collecting dust??

Oh, and Fran, your mother wears combat boots!! Sorry, I couldn't resist.

I was luke warm on 4005s until I played Jeff Scott's WB. It is wonderful bass - warm and responsive, full of harmonics. Jeff does especially good setups so the bass is just the other side of totally sweet.

4005's really aren't my kind of thing, either, but I've never played one. I really can't imagine why these posts would spark such a bitter response from anyone, unless it's sour grapes from someone who lost out on the auction. Enough said already on that subject.

It's a very nice example of a rare find, even my wife thought it was pretty, & she doesn't like 4005's at all.
I'd really love to try one some day.

Hey Johnallg, I forwarded that info to Mom, so keep an eye in your rearview, and when you see the '77 F-150 with the 32" lift back there, you best be haulin' a**. She WILL find you! Bwaaahaaa!

Kevin....hopefully you can come to one of the "confluences".....there are usually at least a couple of 4005s that find their way there...

If Chris makes it to the "confluence", you will see a couple of 4005's.

I certainly hope to find my way to one of the big meets in the future.
That dark FG looks like it hasn't aged much at all. I actually prefer the slash sound holes, especially with bound edges.
Both are handsome examples!

The one on the left has been refinished probably at least a couple of times....I know it was green at one point. The original finish was fireglo....so I'll probably be talking with Paul W. about an AFG finish in the near future.
