"I think Brian and anyone else who has played one of these will testify that 3rd pickup takes the Ric sound to a whole new level! The tone is awesome."
I certainly agree! Anytime I take it to a gig with my other 4004's I end up playing it all night because the others sound less lively in comparison.
I certainly understand why some may find the LK's unappealing. At first when they were announced I thought they they were sort of "overdone".....but it eventually grew on me and now I just find them stunning. I go back and forth on whether I think they are worth the inflated current prices BUT when I see what 4005's, 4002's and CS's go for I think they are a bargain.
"Not to change the subject back to cars again, but where did you get an 87 Grand national with 19,000 miles Brian?"
17K miles! A guy I worked with several times owned it (and I didn't even know he had it) and through a mutual friend that I see on a regular basis I found out he was thinking of selling it so a deal was struck. Excellent!

your original post stated you needed money for you and the family.
then i see you want to trade.
which is it?
in any event, dont sell it it will cost you more to get another once your financail situation turns around.
i recently bought a 620 and took it back a few days later. i think the lust over it because they are hard to come by got me. i sort of miss it now. i paid 950 for it now its 1200 and thats only 3 months ago!
