I had a ML Mapleglo, and indeed, it was no checked binding and the linoleum inlays. Played SO nice, though...and a '75 AG which was purchased by a Forum member, and I will sadly never get back because it was such a sweet one. Sniff...

Don't worry Steve, my new philosophy is find a good bass that has the features you want, and Paul W. can hook you up with a great AZ finish as good or better than the factory can do. It's not a cheap way to go but nothing good in life is achieved by going cheap or cutting corners.

Amen to that, Paul W (or Dale of course) is definitely the way to go.....

I owe Dale big time. When I got my bass back from Ted, it needed a partial refin. Paul W was backed up for 3-4 months or so. Dale was able to do it virtually right away. An unfinished neck would have had to be cleaned with Naptha after every playing, not fun at all (unless you like to sniff Naptha).

Ahh-
The half-a-bass....
Right now she's stripped of parts, so she's not too photogenic...
She is next in line for some passionate necking (couldn't resist...)
I feel like Jeffry Franken trying to rebuild his wife- I gotta find all the right parts....
