The weekend was like a high school reunion. You may not recognize someone for a few moments, but all of a sudden you remember everyone so clearly.

The only person that I knew initially was Nick Thiel, since I've known him for 10+ years. But I happened to meet John Williams who used to live in the same town as me and was best friends with my next door neighbor. Small World.

The hospitality of John, Cindalee, Ben, Kenny and Alison was so great. I know that Kenny and Cindalee are from the South but everyone else must have a connection to our hospitality. Great Job and hope to see everyone again.

Like Darren said, cruising with Graham, Nick, Alisha and Don on Sunday before the HOB, simply fantastic!!!

I know that Kenny and Cindalee are from the South

Kenny certainly is but Cindalee's a ninth generation Californian. But she did live in the South for awhile as a child, while her step dad was flying out of Quantico and Patuxent River; does that count?

The timeline is different for every family lineage of course, but I'm curious as to how far that would go back--possibly to the Gold Rush era or before...?

In my own family I can stretch back 9-10 generations to the Revolutionary War, and I'm working on going even further back at the moment..good leads but nothing definitive yet, all the way back to the middle 1600's.

I'm fourth generation Californian, that goes back to Spanish American war, I believe.

We landed in America in 1760 from England.

England to Boston to Minnesota to California.

If we'd stayed in England, perhaps I'd own a Rose-Morris.

Cindalee's family settled here in California during the late 1790's. Her direct ancestor, Don Geronimo Lopez, a Spaniard by birth, was one of the founders of Mission San Fernando (and later, the city of the same name), having travelled from Mexico with Father Serra.

Their family home, The Lopez Adobe, is a state operated museum these days.

Thanks John, WOW that is going back in CA history for sure, very interesting. Cindalee's timeline of 10 generations to 1790 is roughly the same as my 6th-great-grandfather, b.1757-d.1838.

Jerry, we came from England too-about 100 years (I think) before your ancestors, to Virginia. It gets quite hazy the further I go back, LOL!!

I am cursed/blessed with blending in with my surroundings, as far as accents go. Therein, there's lots of people who don't think I'm from the south because I "don't have an accent."

Oh, and I'm a multiple-generation native Floridian, if anyone cares.

Cool, I grew up in Granada Hills, went to the Mission often.

Used to be a Sunkist orange processing plant nearby.

I'm impressed, Kenny. Very rare indeed. My brother and I are the only ones in our fam born here in FL.

Jeez, we only go back to about 1906.... Just realized that was 100 years ago though.

My lineage goes back three generations, to where my ancestors lived in caves in Central Poland, and made bronze tools.
