Congrats Jay, looks great!
The finishes on these models have certainly varied. The two C63s below are both from 2005 with the one on top having a September date code while the bottom one was from January.

Thanks, Kevin. Those pix are eye openers to me. I have been playing and looking mine over pretty thoroughly since it arrived on Thursday. I was really disappointed when I first opened the case and saw the pink, but now I think I am getting used to it a little better. The thing feels and plays so well -- heck, it even makes my playing sound almost passable -- I'd probably keep it now if it was chartreuse. That nice woodgrain gives it a distinctive look and that makes up for a lot of pink.
In any event, I am through whining about the color. It is hands down the finest guitar I have ever played or owned and I know it is the realization of a long time Beatles dream of mine. I ordered it through Chris Clayton at Pick of the Ricks and I think he did a super job picking it out for me (I've been a customer for so long, he knows my tastes)and setting it up just the way I like it. Over the years he has helped me realize my Rick dreams so many times. If my wife knew how helpful he has been, she would probably hire a hit man for me and him.

Jay, I too really took a liking to the color of my guitar, but had that lingering feeling that it wasnt exactly like Georges. I got over it. man, that is some great wood grain on there!

Thanks, Mark. I am so proud of it now, I feel as if I should be passing out cigars or chocolate.

Kevin -- Please tell me that those both are NOT yours.... What? You have two of them? TWO OF THEM???
I need to go lie down now...

Jerry, No I don't have two of them, at the current time.
I sold the "lighter colored" one to another Forum member a few months ago and he later sold it so he could buy a vintage 60s 360/12. I noticed recently on eBay that it has been sold again.
That C63 has been all around the country in it's short life.

"...The finishes on these models have certainly varied."
Kevin, isn't that the truth. My c63 dates from earlier this year (March 06) but is much like the darker of the two in your picture above.
Jay, I know how you feel. I finally got to play mine through an AC-30 with Celestion Blues this weekend...it was the experience of lifetime...I think I'm in love...of course that always has a bad effect on my wallet.

Thanks, John. I guess the AC-30 thing is the last frontier for me and the George Guitar. But, if it sounds any better than through my Fender Ultimate Chorus and a JangleBox, I will definitely be in the zone. I don't know if a 58 year old Beatle fan could take that!!

I saw Jay's C63 today. I really liked it. Chris Clayton set it up nicely. A fine playing/feeling instrument. FG really varies from instrument to instrument. Jay's was a lighter FG but I wouldn't have turned it down.

OK, perhaps a silly question, but where might I get myself one of these beauties? Those pictures aren't good for my GAS...

Wildwood Music in Louisville, Colorado (Boulder) has three of them in stock right now.

I am not affiliated with Wildwood, but I drop in everytime I'm in town to visit my parents. They're excellent people, and they've always got a great selection. I personally played the C63 third from left of that lineup... It played great and had a nice fireglo

. I couldn't believe the sound it had through a Fender tube amp!

Not sure if this has been covered before, but can somebody briefly explain the differences between the 360/12 C63 and the V64 now discontinued? I would love to get hold of a C63 but there are more V64s on eBay and the like.
