Bob I use the Svetlana 6550C (now called Winged C) in my SVT too, and they sound great and have been in there for at least the last 5 years. I think the GE 6550A or the Genelex KT88 would sound better, and would last longer too, but these Winged C's are just fine.
I'm using old stock preamp and driver tubes in mine because they're still good. One of the 12DW7's is a Mullard and the rest of the preamp tubes are RCA or Sylvania I think. Been awhile since I looked in there.
