Isn't it great to see Rickenfriends making the effort to get together - even for the shortest of times? Well done Joey and Diane!

Hope you dumped the jacket at LAX, Dave..... you sure as heck won't be needing it here. You're in for a pretty warm week! Seems like Wednesday or Thursday we might be turning on one of our typical 'cool change' thunderstorms!

Joey, I'm so glad you guys were able to catch up with each other. Thanks for making the effort to meet them and thanks for the photos, too.

I didn't know that there was a nice restaurant at LAX. I've only ever had Burger King there, and let's just say, I've been to better Burger Kings!

Dave and Lisa are due to arrive in just over two hours time. Let the fun begin

Normally we would not have needed the jackets here either, but it was unusally cool and also windy in LA last night.
As Dave's wife Lisa put it, that Encounter restaurant and the building that it's in, looks like something from out of The Jetsons.

Grissini, olives, sun dried tomato, brie or camembert, crackers and the obligatory red wine.... can't see any Vegemite, Jeff. Look in the cupboard about 20' to the right of picture!

I just told my boss I wouldn't be coming in..... important visitor from the USA!

I've picked up the van, pulled out all the gear and checked everything off. I've packed a few surprises, too.......

Having a quiet beer or two before I load up - lubbly jubbly! The weather forecast has been amended to 39C!!
