Thanks for the welcome.

'72 4001 FG
'73 4001 FG
'91 V-63 MG
'97 4001CS
The CS has the beefiest tone of the lot. The '73 is next; thick tone with a lot of bite. Very resonant wood. The '72 has a horseshoe on it (V-68?). The '91 V-63 has a thinner neck than the '97 CS but the wider neck still feels great. I find it a bit easier to finger notes at the high end.
But I love 'em all!

Hello David (jocal62),
You had more to do with my purchase than you know. When I saw that the c64S was available, I went searching for information about that model and your posts on this forum came up. After reading about yours I was pretty comfortable buying mine without handling it first. So, thanks!

I absolutely love it. It does have a little bridge lift, so I'll be watching that, but it sounds gorgeous.
I'm not in a playing band, but I am recording some original tunes in an "internet band" that I got into a year or so ago. We're almost done. Imagine their surprise when I switched basses on them! Now I have to rerecord all my parts. But since it's a "proggy" influenced pop band, they were very happy to hear I got the Ric.
After we finish this, the keyboard player and I are going to record some proper Prog. Well, as proper as people like us can get, anyway. I'll be sure to alert this board if/when it comes to fruition. (that is, unless it sux..)
