Hmmmmmm.......I'll come clean. I was less than forthcoming when I said I had no stake earlier. It was me......BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! 
It has nothing to do with preventing anyone else from getting a score. I did what was best for me at the time. I don't see much of others looking out for my interest (or anyone's besides their own) in auctions/sales. That's the way things are unfortunately and, honestly, there are those on this Forum that will backstab you to close a sale. There are also those that are very ethical, helpful and have some honor but unfortunately things can get ugly so ya' gotta do what ya' gotta do.
Basically, I knew I had $2K available but $2.5 is cutting things a tad close in my toy fund. I bought a new turbo and some other shananigans for my GN recently and haven't completely recovered. At that point in the auction I could have jumped at the BIN but, IMO, $2K is a good deal and $2.5K is an OK deal but a little on the high side so a quick turnaround without losing any $$$$$ may be difficult (I could be completely wrong of course).
Believe me, I have bought things before where Forumites said I got a smoking deal and they would have bought it in a second if they could and when I turn around and sell because it didn't suit my needs everyone has an excuse as to why they can't get it right now and it ends up on Ebay. Except for Scott with my 4001CS for which I made zero profit. To BIN and turn around and sell if for zero profit is a nice thing to do but I don't have the time for that now.
After confirming that I have the available funds for the BIN price and since I am the only bidder I emailed the seller about the BIN availability and was told that we could work it out. I hate backroom Ebay deals and I've been boned on auctions because of them but, as it stands, I am the only bidder so technically am the only one with any official interest in it. I am torn as to whether I gamble on the auction as it stands and see if I can get back into a non-4004, close the deal at the BIN and flip it or ???????????.
