It is pretty easy to build a horseshoe pickup if you have an old lap steel and a high gain from any era. I did a thread on that a while back. Lots of pictures. Maybe it is still in the archives.
Wints is right...that very dark FG is hard to beat.
But, if the wear is bothering you, I can match that color in a heartbeat...
