I've got an idea for you Chris: Just in case you were wondering what to do with the proceeds from the sale of your bass, how about buying a 4 bedroom house in Detroit?!

How's that for perspective!

Quote (Steve Wood): "David - did you ever figure out if it was a refin or not?"

Hey Steve, no I never did... The dealer I bought it from seems to remember the person who brought it in saying it was a refin.

A couple of others I've checked with said that it if it was done, it was done really so well that it could be a factory refinish since it's so close to some "later" fire-glo finishes. All in all there is nothing conclusive.

And because of the amazing condition that it is in, combined with all of the stories of Ric cleaning out the warehouse including a bunch of NOS '60s models in 89/90 I'd love to list it as "New Old Stock" but without knowing for sure I don't think that I could do it in good conscience - especially since I did buy it as a refin.

You're welcome to drop by and check it out yourself if you think you could tell since you're only slightly north of me (I'm near Pape & Danforth). We could always meet in one the pubs nearby. I could even bring the 4002 for you to play around with if you wanted (but that one is definitely not going anywhere!!!)

Hi Phil, assuming that you're asking about eBay, I'm thinking that might be best particularly because I'm hoping to get somewhere around what the last 2 have gone for. Unfortunately there's a pressing financial need right now.

Phil- The auction was ended early due to local sale. I stated at the end of my auction that I reserve the right to end auction early due to it being for sale locally. I responded to your e-mail asking if I knew you, but I didn't receive a timely response. I received a massive amount of e-mails regarding the sale with some nice offers but I chose to sell to someone I was familiar with.
