Rather than paraphrasing... here's the latest from Dale. Hot off the press tonight!
"Hey Sean...Here's where we're at: As you might know this is one of the most
difficult finishes to do. Besides being white, which will show every flaw
and imperfection if not done just right, the stained wings and fingerboard
which require a 3 stage finish process after the sealer is applied, must be
taped off and painted in separate steps which equals extra work. I replaced
the factory side dots which were very hard to see, with a brilliant white
dot material that matches the rest of the Bass. Now IMO this is turning out
very AWESOME to say the least and you are going to love the look and feel of
your new instrument. You will see in these photos the various steps your
Bass has gone thru in the last several weeks. It will need several more
coats of Brilliant White and the fingerboard and wings will get clear coated
separately. Perfection is what we are going for, so bear with me a while
longer and your Bass will be back home soon...approx. 2 more weeks. Thanks
Dale"
ALL HAIL DALE... or at least I will!
