All of my 4004s have been like this. Either at the bottom of adjustment or close. Looking down the body along the neck edge the neck runs parallel with the body. As far as if it is more/less shallow I have nothing to compare it to. If the neck is angled back than the bridge would need to be higher but I haven't run across this.

My 4004C E and G saddles are all the way down too.

I too, had to get the Hipshot bridge to get the G string lower (she never complains about that!). The string slots are nice to have and I don't have problems with the string coming out as I restring my basses, but that may be due to my method of doing so.

I have this back now that Mark Gilbert (thanks Mark!) changed the bass to a five string. I have the same bridge (5 string) on my Zon.

Jeff, do you want to get rid of it? I wouldn't mind it for my red Laredo. Image

My '93 Cheyenne also had pretty high action with the E and G strings adjusted all the way down at the bridge. My "guitar tech" wanted to route the body under the bridge to lower it. I don't go to him anymore! I tightened the rods a little more and now the action is acceptable. But the E and G saddles are just barely off their minimum.

Sometimes the slots in the nut need to be filed a bit deeper too. This can have a big effect on your action. If your strings sit well of the first fret, then you need to file the slots down till there almost touching the first fret.

Mr. Scott- it was no problem sending the bridge back, after all you were the one that paid for it and besides, to me, four string bridge from 4004 = paperweight...ImageImageImage.
