Har!

Dale, if the Grovers on my '72 BG 4001 need the brass screw treatment, by all means go ahead and do it. I don't need a tuner failure right in the middle of playing a 3K wedding gig!

Bob your Bass is done...I will send you some pictures tomorrow... Your Grovers are fine, and I'll pack it for shipping and return on Wednesday. Nice instrument, plays and sounds great...As you can tell I spend most of my time working on instruments.

Dale, don't take this discussion too serious! We need you working on instruments. We only have Paul W. and you to help us when "tr(d)ouble-Bass" really starts. Image

After all, it was really just a discussion about periods.

I would ask that we all stick to the topics at hand and do our level best to keep our sarcasm to ourselves. We have so little time and so very much to learn from one another.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Amen.

For my part, I love banter, humor, puns...often cannot resist an utterly juvenile joke. And I know that can get old. But probably not as old as every forum's tendency to resort to "flaming" when we disagree with each other. The usual civility of this forum is what makes it so unique. Since disagreement is natural, I propose we make a better effort to be prepared for disagreements, continue to be specific about our knowledge and experience, and certainly speak our minds...but with maybe just a little less cutting edge?

Viva le difference, and all that...
