That pickguard harkens to the eagle claw of the man that designed the guitars....

....the man that designed the guitars....

"Designed" is a bit of a strong word in this case, as they had fairly well been "designed" by the time of his arrival. His contributions lay more in the area of improvements and methods employed in their construction.

So Manea gets credit for the improvements. Who gets credit for the original designs?

The pickguard on the Aquaglo Minutaglio 700C is my own design, adapted from the guard on the Jim Reeves "Blue Boy" acoustic.

Cool, it just reminded me of his logo. I wasn't sure which word to use for his contributions.....

"Aquaglo Minutaglio 700C" - compression killed that photo.... Too many colors for 35K I guess... Image

Hey, JM, I still think your Aquaglo paint job is gorgeous, and is PW at or near his pinnacle of extreme artisanship Image

I would be grateful if you could email-attach me some high-resolution 8-bit color (or higher) versions of your photos, so I could see the work in the greater detail worthy of this guitar!!! Please?? Image Image

John has some lovely high-res pictures of this one, Elys...he's kindly sent me some a couple of months ago.

I have two more nearly ready to ship. I'll post pics. One is very traditional, the other is...

Here are some comparison shots of my '04 700C FG. The afternoon sun peeking out behind clouds wreaked havoc on the color consistency of the photos:-

It's the sweetest sounding guitar I've ever played, Peter Image

That FG looks good on the jumbo.

If you look at the FG '04 vs. the MG '02/05 you can see again the fingerboard placement over the soundhole variation that Paul described...

DT: do you have a good headstock picture of that one? Did you put a pickup in it?

John, I'll arrange for a headstock photo tonight. I have not put a pickup in it yet, but I'd love to at some point Image
