She plays very nicely Phil. There's a lot said about these early basses. But the ones I have play really well. I use flats and that suits them I think.

John, one of the "other ones," the Mapleglo one, is probably a '58 or '59. Is that yours? Do you know who has that one? Note the walnut neck-through construction, which was later replaced with a maple neck-through in production.

Hi Paul, no that one is not mine. It was on Japanese auction site a number of years ago. Its the same on that was pictured in the Smith book.
