$3,133.18 BIN?
Heck, I'd be tempted to sell this one for that!
Well, maybe not!

Or two!

Too late Kev! Now that we know you just leave your Rick basses lying about in the dirt on the ground outside all the time, I'd have to back away from buying it now... !!!!!

Back on topic. I'd want the vintage knobs, choice of Ebony fingerboard, checkerboard binding, no binding on the fingerboard, and a dot neck. Too much to ask? I'd also wait an extra year to get one. Current deliveries are what, one year, or more?

Okay Chris, hypothetically speaking, yes - I would say that's too much to ask. RIC doesn't use ebony, and there'd be no reason to use it on a 4005 reissue - they never had it anyway. Ditto with the dot neck. (Okay, very few odd 4005/8's and others here and there had ebony/dots. You know what I mean.)
I am sure that, if it were to happen, it would be as close to a 60's 4005, cosmetically, as it could be within reason. No crushed pearl inlays, but certainly full-width inlays (This goes for any potential v68 as well). Checkered binding. Scatterwound toasters. Silver-top knobs.
You say you'd wait a year or two to get one? How long will it take you to turn blue in the face?

Elys,
That's how I "personalize" them! It makes them worth more with all that "relicing" and "mojo"! You should see what a do to my Ricks with this:

I know my Stihl makes short work of wood products.

Mine cuts enough to burn 24/7 from late October through March.
Firewood that is, not Ricks!

Any of you bass fellers have a sound clip of a '60s 4005 (regular or WB) in action? Would love to hear one. I saw Mark Walker playing a 4005/8 at MARF but I'm assuming those models have a sound all of their own.
I know it's a dead horse / *** topic, but a reissue 4005 just might drive me over the edge into bassdom. They're like a stretched-out 360.

Mental note: Don't by any 4005's from Elys!
