the 4003 neck is stronger than a 4001 neck so that would have been a better candidate for a 4-2-6 conversion ...

Honestly I play down a half step most of the time, but the real 4005/6 basses are set up this way and hold up ok. So far it's dealing with it just fine. Here is a close up of the modded bridge.

Interesting and useful bridge you got there, Roy.

I thought I didn't include the "img" tags when I copied it, but I guess one must have slipped in there!

Roy, a very nice solution, that looks good too. Kudos. Great that the guitar bridge fit in there.
