Here's the one I'll prolly get.. It's an SX from Rondo Music. 159 bucks. They'll have a 5'er in just before Christmas. For 60 bucks you can get a white or black block replacement neck. They may come out with a model already done up like that, if enough folks ask.

I have owned a few sx basses ... the frets usually need dressing and leveling ...I usually put a better bridge and better pickups on the sx basses as well ...

I have a sx musicman 5 clone that sounds pretty good ...

dane--have you ever posted pix of your fretless 4004? would love to have a peek at it! oh and my experience with the cii is that i just boost the treble slightly and i'm happy,it is set up with lightweight ss rw strings and i play through a markbass 1-12" combo.my 74 4000 is MUCH more agressive/trebly sounding,though.

I haven't gotten round to posting pics of either of my modded 4004's but I should this weekend.
