A friend of mine installed one in his late 90's 4003 and had to remove a small amount of wood from the cavity but then realised there was a small metal lug on the end of the Ric push/pull pot which just needed filing off to enable it to fit. He did that for me on the Ric push/pull pot he got for my 02' 4003 (good chap!). So, worth have a look at yours and see if it's a simlar problem?

Thanks for the hint. Unfortenately there isn't a small lug to remove on the pot.
Anyway I've just put the cap in without the push/pull pot. I like the tone better with the cap in. More balanced. So I'll probably keep it this way. :)
