D'oh! Looks like I have to sell a kidney to complete the left handed set. Thanks for reminding me that being right handed is a curse in this matter, Ron.

I've never liked the way Macca painted his bass. But that Brian's bass looks first rate. Paul W. did an amazing job!!!! That's as close as you can get to that look IMHO. Great looking basses there Brian.

No gigging, but I am recording with it.

Sorry I can't leave this thread alone, but I absolutely love this bass. It took almost 3 years to complete but I've waited 20 to get the right bass and find the right person to do the work. I truly appreciate your work, Paul. I think I love staring at it from every possible angle more than playing it.

Does it *SOUND* different than your other 4001C64? What kind of strings do both basses wear?
Have you tried playing "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" on the MMT C64 with the bridge pickup?

The strings on the other C64 and C64S are stock Rickenbacker Strings. The MMT feels the same to me although I thought Paul was putting flats on it. They all sound the same to me right now. I haven't played around with fuzz or any effects yet. I will try While My Guitar Gently Weeps with the bridge pickup and see how it sounds. To be honest, that wasn't one of the first songs to pop into my head. I have actually been playing more original material than anything.

WMGGW is Fender Jazz Bass.
I have a 4001S that I did a pseudo-MMT paintjob on about 10 years ago, came out good IMO.
