I do not mind at all. I use pictures of this bass as wallpaper myself also.

My 4003 AFG is in transit as we speak and I am dreading the wait once she arrives. It is freakin' -4 degrees outside right now!

When my 4004Cii BBR arrived last week, it was about 60 degrees F outside. Not cold here, but very cold where it came from, so I waited over 24 hours to take it out of it's box.

Dan, I feel your pain. It was -8 here in ND when my AFG arrived. I waited a day, very painful. This should keep you warm:

Thanks for the pics, Scott. I am happy to see the temps are going up and we may actually be in the high 50's the day my bass arrives.

Sorry....resurrecting an old post and all that. Bad form on my part, but I just read the question. Here in Vegas, I keep a room humidifier near the guitars. I usually only need to use it in the winter when the furnace really dries out what little humidity we have. Summer time doesn't seem to be a problem because of the air conditioner somehow humidifying the house (hell if I can explain that one, but it is what it is).
Gotta cringe when it hits 4% some days.

I just became a member on this site and got intrigued with the conversation regarding temperature variations. I bought my Ricky 4001 new in October '73. I have been transporting it reguarly in all kinds of conditions from -40 to +90 degree weather and (other than opening the case just a little bit to lessen the temperature variation from outside to room temperature) I haven't been overly cautious. Through all of this my Ricky still has no cracks in the finish. Just a scrape on the headstock thanks to airline baggage handling. This is an awesome site and I look foward to exploring it more.
