Paul, if memory serves me right, you were planning on doing a calendar of the guitars that came through your workshop; i.e. acoustics, Jazzbos, restorations, etc. Or has my memory failed me once again?

Then again, if my memory has failed me, I think it would me a great idea for a 2009 calendar.

It's really a situation of not enough time, with customer work, school, and NAMM jumping out at me.

The window of opportunity has passed for this year, but I'm well-prepared for next, Richard!

Hey Paul - I can't believe I'm just now getting back to checking up on the calendar. Nice job! Yourself, and everyone who submitted pics. LOVE the turquoise 4003 & Gia in April's pic! It was cool to finally see your contribution to our colaboration for July. The flag tied in the collage for the July 4th theme nicely. Here's the original version before finalized:

And thanks for using my Halloween contribution. Wasn't sure how that was going to go over!

The Halloween page was a gas. That one was 100% Mark's, and I ran it without any changes whatsoever. It was a change from the straight pictures type of thing, and quite appropo for the season!

I like the mix this year; from straight detail and full-guitar shots to these terrific flights of fancy, to a couple of collaborations. Great fun.

Got an idea for the 2009 calendar that you want to shoot?

A little behind the scenes note: You can't see Johnny Cash in the final version of the July '08 pic, but if you look above to the penultimate version, you'll see that I had to strategically place the bass over his middle finger.

I remember that Cash photo....That's as good of a job in camouflage as the hair dresser did in the movie Tahiti.... So where is the montage from? Like your dining room wall or something? It's pretty cool.

Thanks, Tom. That montage was made piece by piece. I collected every photo individually for the layout, then angled "the wall."

For those interested, here's the original "68 wall" composite which features events in music, theater, television, movies, politics, industry, and world events in general which all impacted 1968. Truly a pivotal time in our history. Featured is the 1968 RIC catelogue, of course. See if you can name all the pictures. I'll give you a hard one - the shot of William Shatner in the lower right corner, (2nd up from the bottom) is from the episode of Star Trek in which he & Nichelle Nichols engaged in the first ever televised inter-racial kiss. Unfortunately, I had to cut out Uhura when cropping the wall.

Don't have time right now to try to name it all now but have saved the pic - later. Start an anniversary 2008 wall with Uhura...

Hey Mark, I spied the shoulder patch for the 20th TASS (Snoopy on the doghouse/Sopwith Camel). I flew with that unit a few times in 1972. Is that just a random thing you added, or do you have some connection with the unit?

No connection, Paul. That was totally random except for the fact that I read 'Peanuts' a lot growing up. But the fact that you recognize that patch is a pretty cool "small world" thing! Congrats on making it back in one piece.
