The Rickenbacker was used on Red Barchetta and The Camera Eye....(maybe) Witch Hunt...
No no no. He said in a very recent interview with BPM or the late Bass Guitar that Limelight was the RIC--the interviewer asks him. If you need me to dig it up I will--it's somewhere at http://www.bassplayer.com I think. May be on YouTube--it was a video, and the part about Limelight didn't make the paper mag. As for YYZ, I can't say, but based on the tone I really think it's the Ricky.
I've seen the interview, and that is precisely what he says...that the 4001 was used on 'Limelight'.....

BUT, I believe that he committed a faux pas and that he misspoke. I stand by my statement, based on over 30 years of being a Rush fan, owning 4001s and Jazz Basses for just as long, knowing intimately how they sound and seeing Rush live on every tour for the past 30 years as well.

It is the black '72 Jazz Bass he has had since circa 1978.

Actually (as long as we're starting unsubstantiated rumors) Alex Lifeson played the bass track on YYZ in the studio, using an old Washburn bass. He states this in a Guitar Player magazine interview in 1982. He created the riff and had done the basic tracks with producer Terry Brown. Later, Geddy came in and recorded the solo breaks, but that's the only part of the studio version he plays on. He played his solos using the same old Washburn bass. According to Alex, Geddy hadn't planned on doing any playing when he came in to preview the mixes for all the other tracks that had been completed for 'Moving Pictures,' so he used Alex's bass. Alex said: "Don't you want to go get your Rick bass?" to which Geddy said: "Nah. No one will notice the difference on the record, anyway."

So there you have it.

Well, you guys sound like you know what you're talking about (esp. about that Washburn stuff), so I'll concede.

But did you know that Signals was recorded using only a washtub bass? That "classic Ric tone" is a sham!

Did I just blaspheme? Sorry.
