The giant kit had a 26-inch kick drum and a 20-inch snare!

Actually the bass drum was a 28". In addition to a 16" rack tom and a 20" floor tom. I would have a hard time playing that thing.

Sorry, I meant 28-inch. That's what Babiuk says in Beatles Gear.
In the Paperback Writer & Rain promo videos, John is using the same strap in black on his Casino.

I suffered through being in a band with a drummer that had TWO 28" bass drums, a 16" mounted tom and 18" & 20" floor toms. 15" snare. When he got those two bass drums rumbling, it was like a highballin' freight train.

Now that I see it more clearly, I recall that I had just such a strap in the 1970s -- slots all the way down the wide part, making it highly adjustable. Sorry -- can't recall where I got it, except that it was in Pittsburgh, but Levys was not in business.

How's the fabrication of that strap coming along, Brian?

Looks like his pants are on wrong side out.

Didn't Aunt Mimi show John the proper way to wear pants? Being as this is John, I'm sure he's just trying to make a sardonic statement regarding something or other. Backwards pants aren't always just backward pants...or maybe they are!

The strap is very nice. Very soft distressed brown letather with a brass belt buckle. I gave Henry the meausrements and it fits perfetly. She will go on my 4001V63 until the 4001C64 MG arrives. I don't know for certain but it looks just like the strap in the picture posted earler in this thread. I am very pleased.
