If anyone wants any part of this (it has about 40 24 bit tracks) you are welcome to it.
Les
I can't either LOL
nevertheless I took the liberty of giving a quick try...don't kill me LOL

I used the latest version posted, the one featuring real drums

OUTSTANDING rickinroma! Sounds great!!! Can I get your original uncompressed tracks? I'll put em in the mix.
Then I can do the final fade at the end. Recall the fade was quick, because John flubbed a chord near the end...
Oh and Wes, I'll do a lofi mix for you to go with your drums. Let me try a better guitar track.
If need be the kick timing can be easily be synced to the guitar. I like the wide dynamic/frequency range bit,
but it will be fun to see how close to 1964 I can get with digital. Compressors and tape saturation
coming! I'll try a mono mix too!

I deleted them right after the mixdown...I am sorry
However the whole procedure (2 high vocals + 1 lower one) lasted less than 15min...it is something that can be quickly redone
I must have read somewhere that someone had recorded What You're Doing....that might be more interesting and challenging in terms of singing...

Yeah, I did "what you're doing" and even sang. I'm doing all the beatles 12 string songs. But my vocals sound terrible. I had to sing an octave low. I would love to have you do both songs! What are you recording with? What kind of Mic? It sounds good.

you would laugh and not believe if I said I use a desktop PC microphone...a couple of dollars value, maybe less LOL
but it's the truth...
I do not have serious microphones at home...but it works decently
I have a software called NTRACK on my PC...it accepts WAVE files and the mixdown can be done both Wave and mp3
...and I cannot eliminate your vocal parts from the mp3 you linked...so I would need you to save/link a YUCK vocals free version

I'll prepare a yuck free track for you this evening.
I was taken to task on this one for changing the chord voicing in the first part of the solo.
It doesn't have the dissonance of the original. I think George just flubbed the chord...
The little electret computer mics can actually be pretty good. With the Linkwitz mod (converting
the internal fet to a source follower) the little $2 panasonic wm61 is actually flatter than a Nuemann U87.
(I design microphones and drivers for a living so sorry about getting geeky

)

Les, I have a REAL drum track for you. I was given a bunch of drum tracks from another forum member, Martin Walsh. Still out there, Martin??? He's not the one drumming, but a friend of his. One of the tracks was "Every Little Thing" and until now, I had no interest in it. Obviously, it would mean a whole new recording, but if you're like me, "nothing is final!!!". The drum track is 16-bit mono. Also, I'd like to take a stab at the vocals when I have time. E-mail me with your thoughts.

Francesco,
I noticed that 330 12 in your impressive collection. So here's what I did for you: I took out the 360 12 as well
as the voice, so you can play your 12 along with it.
Now if your wife asks you again WHAT YOU"RE DOING just tell here you're doing EVERY LITTLE THING you can!

Hope to redo the acoustic on ELT this weekend, but today I have to visit someone and teach them how to use a little Foxtex hard drive studio they bought but can't figure out.
