Richard, I hope that visions of that picture of Graham don't stop you from getting to sleep tonight!

It certainly has put me off my tea!!!

Well John arrived safe and sound.........although he did give me the old switcharoony! He told me he'd be in at 6:20am to Terminal 3..........but I tracked him down at Terminal 1 at 9:30am........

We had a fun day yesterday.....John hit the ground running and we went straight to a Rock n Roll memorabilia auction at Christies. It was an interesting day. The highlight was the Sgt Pepper drum (as seen on the cover of the album) which sold for a staggering £541,250.00

And John Lennon's hand written lyrics for Give Peace a Chance which sold for £421,250.00!!!!!!!!!!!

I had to go to the toilet and made the mistake of leaving the bidding paddle with John..........when I came back he'd bought a guitar for me............more to follow!!!!!!

But of course!!! I knew that Graham secretly wanted this guitar...I mean REALLY wanted it, but surprisingly couldn't muster whatever it takes to "just do it." (must be the residual effects of modeling the Hoffs' under-things). At any rate, in an attempt to provide a justifiable alibi, he went gallivanting off to the loo just before this particular instrument came up on the block. I figured....he's being an incredibly gracious host, he's a great friend....what choice did I really have? "Do unto others" is what my mother always taught me...

So while I confess to the "kindness" mentioned above, I also had to act as a "designated bidder" in an opposite, but equally important fashion. I made Graham give me the paddle (and his wallet) when these came on the block....

*Just a brief sidetrack*

Those Lennon lyrics were given to a 16 year old girl who watched Lennon write the song - he gave them to her and told her "These will be worth something someday" - well, she made out pretty good!

*Back to your regularly scheduled thread" (apologies for the hijack).

Well we had big plans today, but they went by the by as we had to go from Ford dealership to Ford dealership looking for car parts for John Simmons. I mean I don't mean to make JS feel bad but I think JK would have preferred to look at the London sights rather than Ford parts..........hey..........but what are friends for eh?
