Josh, she is a real looker. I would think the two toasters added a clarity and definition of note and tone that with the fretless is to die for. Let us know when you get that sound clip. Interested.

You are correct about the sound of the two Toasters--they present a really clear, articulate image of the fretless tone. To me, it sounds more like a boutique bass than most boutique basses I've played! If that makes sense. I think that with minimal preamping this bass will probably be a huge asset for recording--as soon as I get some free time I hope to prove that.

Sorry the sound clips aren't recorded yet. While you wait why don't you all vote on jazz standards I should record for the clips? I'm already thinking Nardis, Spain, Night In Tunisia... Of course I won't just record jazz.

I have some primitive sound clips of the bass from the very first day I got it, with a 7.4 neck Toaster and a Hi-Gain. Currently it is a 6.3 neck/7.4 bridge double Toaster. I used the neck pickup soloed to record some weird stuff, such as the end part of "Roulette Dares" by the Mars Volta. Sounds really authentic.

Edit: That's right. I recorded Nardis on that first day. If you guys want to get a feeling for what it sounded like before, I can submit that... somebody just tell me how to upload the file to the internet and link it! It's AIFF.

Don't forget, that's from the very first day I had the bass in my possession, so it's 7.4 Toaster/11 Hi-Gain.
