It smelled the same because it's mostly the case you're smelling, not the geetar.

This may be off kilter- but I completely prefer the look of a plainer top on the burst type guitars.
I honestly think that an extremely flamed top can be a bit distracting to the overall appearance and beauty
of the color nuances !
Love the flame on the MG's though !
