Jake, this is a real shame after all of your and others efforts. I admire your ability to bounce back so quickly and hope that you can take your time to sort out what you want to do with the guitar. Save your pictures until you're ready. Stick with it.

Different circumstances, but Pete found a good use for his. Beautiful objects even in this state of disrepair.

Does anyone really think Jake wants to keep one of his mistakes hanging around? I say part it out or sell it outright and add the money to your wages and earn your next perfect guitar. The mental and physical investment will do you good, Jake, and may also not-so-coincidentally help the next guitar last longer as well.

It's only a mistake if you call it one. Deny the accident, make lemons out of lemonade---rebuild the guitar you will be stoked!

I've seen guitars in unbelievably wrecked shape----burn victims, splintered into 20 pieces etc. etc....put back together, undetectably. It can be done.

I am restoring the guitar OVER THE SUMMER WITH MY GRADUATION MONEY. I have already talked to Larry Davis. When I am ready, he will do the work for me. I was intrigued by what amazing work he did to Paul A's 360WB and Kevin K's 350V63.

I like you, Jake; you're a gutsy young man. I think this is the best idea. If you can see this through, you will have an instrument that will mean more to you than just good looks and tone.

I don't know what he wants, just an option - take it or leave it.

One way to look at this is what can you buy for the amount of money that Jake can sell the guitar for in its current condition, plus the cost of the restoation. If you can't replace it for that it kind of answers the question. On the other hand how much will the repaired guitar be worth after the restoration.

I know a girl who wouldn't sell her repaired guitar for any amount
