jingle_jangle wrote:The necks are factory, but they are unusual in that they're ambered maple with maple fretboards and black clay dots, per my specs, not the typical Chinese/Korean weird ""rosewood" species. In terms of feel, the bass ones feel to me somewhere between a P and a J. They're CNC, hence consistent.
I recently got a Squier Classic Vibe 60s P bass and it has an ambered finish on the neck. They also used some type of rosewood that looks fairly convincing!
The problem with these Lightfire instruments is choosing wheather its a bass or a guitar and then selecting a colour.... And then trying to convince the finance department why I need one.....

That's the easy part, you're buying it for the Christmas tree.

Silly question but, are any of the basses going to have rosewood fingerboards?

Noop. The idea was to go with a real vintage "surf punk" look...hence the pearlescent retro colors, too.
The 12 string guitars will be Candy Red or Lime Gold Flake.

Held up in production (not in my control). I'll post as soon as there's some real news, JB.

Just curious, what ever happened with these? Did they ever get made?

These have gone through lots of development in terms of designing a new, wholly original body and headstock, and evolving new electronics, too.
I've also taken the time to seek intellectual protection for every possible unique feature.
That's all I'm going to say right now. Get ready for some surprises.
Thanks for asking!
