Even with the mods, it's a very cool, very rare 60's dot bass, which you will probably never be able to replace. Love to hear what it sounds like...
Yup, been detailing the Honda CR-V and hope to sell it today instead of Ric. Maybe I'll make a little video of my friend Bill playing it w/ Sound wave (an instrumental surf band) to share how it sounds. He really makes that puppy sing! However I just got the posting photos down, next, video...
Thanx for input!

Mahalo for you kind words, Jeff. RRF rocks! Hey what's your new icon? At first glance I thought it was a fish head. Now I think it's a meteorite. Which is it, fish or mineral?
The icon I made is of myself w/ one of my heroes, the great Wes Wilson, poster artist for 60's SF rock posters. Came out really low resolution tho. I can't seem to get it to be just under 20KB. Here it is at 29KB. I'm wearing a T-shirt w/ my favorite poster by Rick Griffin. The artwork is so cool and it was a great show with Big Brother & the Holding Company and Santana and it was on my 16th birthday. Those were the days! $3- concerts w/ 3 bands & the headliner usually did 2 sets. Thanx Bill Graham.

Hi Kira, Great icon. You're inspiring me to get creative, but alas, no Photoshop or CS4... Yeah, I was born & raised North of the Golden Gate. Great time to be a teen in the 60's w/ the SF Sound and all. I was a huge Janis fan and was always at the front of the stage, right in front of her mic. I can hear myself whistling after each song on a live from Winterland CD. And occasionally I show up in a photo. I should scan the one from Newsweek 1969 w/ JJ on the cover. Anyway I moved to Maui just before the turn of the century. I like living here & visiting California instead of the other way around. And you? Bay Area? What's a RRF Consultant anyway? Are you a techie or a Rickie? Aloha, ss

Better to mod bagels than Rics! I liked it better when I thought it was a fish head, but that's just me...

Hey, Shelly,
Yes, I'm San Francisco born and raised, then moved up to Marin ten years ago after living in Europe for a while. Don't get me started about the old days

, so many great times we had, cool people and great stories. I never saw Janis live (just a wee bit too young) but was blessed to see just about everybody who played the area after 1971.
Consultant, in my case, just means they drafted me to keep me out of trouble.

I'm here a lot and I care about what goes on, that's about all. No special technical prowess either, just a love of playing these great guitars since about '72 when I got my first one, a really beat-up old Combo model. Wish I still had it. I do still have my second, a 320 that I bought new in 1982.
I've been to HI, found it beautiful but got island fever and returned after some months. Best of luck to you and I hope you like it here on the forum.

E Kyra, Cool to hear from you. I'm Marin born & raised. I'm really lovin RRF. Such great info & interesting discussions w/ lots of witty humor. WNTL?
So you had an old combo? Like from the 50's? Now that's a hip first guitar! A kid who lived down the street from me got a new maple Ric in the late 60's. it may have been a 320. I'm not sure if he ever let me play it... or even touch it. I wasn't playing electrics yet. If he shows up at the HS reunion in Sept I'll ask him if he still has it. Looking forward to visiting Bay Area but no island fever here. I love living on an island. It helps that I surf. Maui is great. 2 film festivals a year. A world class theater which they say has the best acoustics west of the Mississippi. Lots of music happening here. Sometimes opportunities to see Willie Nelson or Prince in a small club. Now I know what Prince sprays on his fingerboard when he plays. Rose oil.
Thanx for your welcome. You are the first wahine that I have met here. I'm sure there are others. Stay

Ooops!

Sorry for the mis-spell, KIra. I must have been thinking of Ms. Sedgewick...
