$800 for a 4002? i traded a modulus/jazz for mine,about a $600 value at the time. (like 14 years ago)

One of our members purchased a 1963 4001. There are some nice pics to look at if you are interested.

To the purchaser of this fine vintage instrument (8mileshigh)... Do you still have it, and if so, how is it performing.

According to the Ric website, many of these fine quality instruments have been recently shipped.

QUESTION

Is there a thread here on RRF that discusses in some detail, and with accuracy, the history of Paul's 4001S bass? There's one on the Rickenbacker forum, but I can't include it here. I'd like to have a link, if it exists, so that people can learn about the various changes regarding Paul's bass.
